The Department of Economics has started teaching activities in the 2007-2008 academic year and receives 52 students every year. The department has an elective one-year English Preparatory Program.
The main aim of the economics department program is "to train qualified economists". In this framework, students are aimed to take a sound economic foundation with the courses such as Introduction to Economics, Mathematics for Economists, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Mathematical Economics, Econometrics, Monetary Theory and Policy, and History of Economic Thought.
The department of economics program is a structure in which elective courses are emphasized besides basic economics courses. In this way, the program allows students to choose between various alternatives based on their interests, skills and expectations.
Graduates who want to work in the public sector, the Central Bank of Turkey Statistics Institute, State Planning Organization, the Capital Markets Board and Istanbul Stock Exchange, the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency, the Ministry and the State Banks of the undersecretaries attached to the Ministry, "Officer", "Researcher", "Assistant Specialist " and "Specialist".
