Who Are We?
Ondokuz Mayıs University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences is an educational institution that offers quality and innovative education opportunities to its students with its competent academicians in the field, and harbors many opportunities in social and cultural contexts as well as academic counseling.
Established in 1995, our faculty provides education to 2075 students with a staff including 10 professors, 14 associate professors, 10 assistant professors, 2 research assistants with PhDs (assoc. prof. level), 8 research assistants with PhDs, and 16 research assistants.
As of the 2024 - 2025 academic year, there are 343 active international students in our faculty.
What is Our Academic Vision and Quality?
The aim is to raise qualified students with researches at a level that will contribute nationally and internationally, thanks to the young and dynamic academic staff of our faculty. Ranking at high levels in Turkey, our faculty aims to carry this success even further.
Our well-equipped academic staff has received awards for their master's and doctoral theses and other research publications. Our faculty strives to increase its advantages to compete with similar faculties at both national and international levels.
What Have Our Students Achieved Through Which Facilities?
Our faculty possesses functionality that contributes to the academic and social development and interaction of our students. There are computer laboratories, a reading hall, a conference hall, and amphitheaters in our faculty.
What Are Our Programs and the Job Opportunities They Offer?
Thanks to the gains acquired in our Faculty, our students are employed in jobs subject to various areas of expertise such as public institutions (Governorate, District Governorate, Finance, etc.), banking sector, human resources departments in the private sector, customs and customs clearance procedures, international trade and transportation, taking part in entrepreneurial projects, and academic careers.
The Department of Insurance and Actuarial Sciences and the Department of Management Information Systems, which were within the body of Bafra Faculty of Business, were transferred to our Faculty in accordance with the Council of Higher Education Decision dated 05.03.2025 and the Senate Meeting decision dated 13.03.2025 and numbered 2025/93. Graduates of the Insurance and Actuarial Sciences Program can work in the insurance sector, public and private social security institutions, banks, and investment firms. Actuarial scientists can also receive the title of actuary with signature authority provided that they take national or international actuarial exams and fulfill the conditions stipulated by the Regulation on Actuaries.
In this sense, our faculty supports students with workplace training programs so that they can have a good career. It ensures that students receive information about the sector by bringing them together with stakeholders.
Which International Exchange Programs Do We Offer to Our Students?
Our faculty has student exchange agreements within the framework of Farabi, Mevlana, and Erasmus Programs. Our students actively benefit from the said exchange programs, and the experiences they gain contribute to the expansion of their perspectives regarding their fields of expertise.
In Which Ways Do We Support the Professional, Cultural, and Social Atmosphere?
There are two types of community structures in our university, classified in professional and social categories within the body of SKS (Health, Culture, and Sports Department). While professional communities are specific to faculties, social communities are of a general nature. In this context, our Faculty supports the development and experience acquisition of our students in the professional field with communities such as the Economic Research Community, International Trade and Logistics Community, SME and Entrepreneurship Community, Young Leaders Community, and Political Science Community. Our students have organized many events and organizations within the communities to date. In addition to these, our university offers the necessary institutional ground to create an atmosphere that will enable the cultural development of our students through social communities operating in 93 fields from cycling to chess.
Additionally, within the scope of our Urbanization and Environment courses, our students participate in events (sapling planting, etc.) and activities are organized to increase awareness regarding environmental cleanliness.
