The Department of Political Science and Public Administration, which started its undergraduate education with 52 students in the 2009-2010 academic year, provides a training in which political and administrative disciplines are studied from a scientific point of view. Our students are equipped with the knowledge and skills that they will need in public and private sectors. Our students have the opportunity to study basic social and political issues such as the state, political parties, how the election systems work, as well as the development of Turkish Public Administration, human rights and urbanization policies. The courses are designed to render students to be competent in those fields by equipping them with the analytical tools that will enable them to understand and solve the complex political and administrative issues.
The Department of Political Science and Public Administration consists of four main disciplines: Political and Social Sciences, Administrative Science, Urbanization and Environmental Issues, Legal Sciences. The lessons are planned in a wide range of courses, seminars and other scientific activities, as well as in a way to ensure their competence in sub-science branches. The Department offers programs for the B.S, the M.S. and Ph.D degrees.
History of Political Thought, Method in Social Sciences, Political Parties and Election, Turkish Political Life, Constitutional Law, Administrative Law, Turkish Administration History, Comparative Public Administration, Contemporary Approaches in Public Administration, Urbanization and Housing Policy, Urban Culture and Urbanism, Eurasia in World Politics, University and Society are the main courses in the department. In addition, the subjects of Economics, International Politics, Local Governments, Business and Social Security Law are also included in the curriculum.
